Volunteers play a vital role in the ministry of The Wilds of New England. Whether you come for a single day, a weekend, or a special work project, your time and effort help us serve campers well and keep the ministry moving forward. We would love for you to join us!

Volunteers are an important part of The Wilds ministry. Each year, individuals, churches, and groups donate their time and skills to help care for and improve the campsite. From preparing facilities and assisting with camp operations to helping with work projects, volunteers make it possible for us to serve thousands of campers each year.
Whether you have visited camp many times or are coming for the first time, there are many ways you can jump in and help.

Join our staff team for a weekend! During busy fall camps, extra helping hands make a big difference. Weekend volunteers serve in a variety of roles that help each retreat run smoothly. If you are looking for a simple way to serve camp for a short time, this is a great opportunity.
Who can be a fall weekend volunteer?
Anyone ages 14–30 who is willing to serve and work wherever help is needed.
Where will I stay?
Volunteers stay in staff cabins equipped with heaters for cooler fall evenings. Plan to bring bedding, toiletries, and personal items similar to what campers bring. All meals are provided on-site.
What will I be doing as a volunteer?
Volunteers assist in many areas such as kitchen help (serving meals or dishwashing), store help (Cool Beans or the Sweet Shoppe), assisting with activities, helping set up games, or helping with cleanup around camp.
How much time is involved?
2-day camps: Friday afternoon – Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
3-day camps: Friday afternoon – Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
Volunteers are typically finished about 2 hours after the regular camp dismissal time.
Setting the campsite up for summer!
Each spring we set aside two workdays to prepare the campsite after the long winter season. Volunteers help with a wide variety of projects—from cleaning cabins and setting up tents to spreading mulch and refreshing our buildings so everything is ready for summer campers.
These days are only possible because of the many individuals and groups who come to help. Whether you join us as an individual, a family, or a church group, we would love to have you serve alongside us.
Lunch is provided, and the day typically runs from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. There are projects for all skill levels and ages.
We need your skills
If you have experience in carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, construction, or other trades, we would love to partner with you on upcoming projects! Throughout the year, we have a variety of projects—from cabin improvements to larger construction needs—and skilled volunteers often make these projects possible.
